This position assists with making the MAH archives accessible and inclusive for our community and beyond. This position collaborates with other local history-related organizations and individuals, sharing resources and research.

Working under the Executive Director and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for leading and managing the financial, administrative, human resource, and business operations of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the senior management team, this position oversees finance, business planning and budgeting, legal matters, risk management, and administrative and personnel functions.

Working under the Director of Development & Communications and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the acquisition, cultivation, and solicitation of general memberships and executes tasks related to all membership recruitment and retention including the member journey for the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the development and communications team, this position is responsible for ensuring that all members receive the appropriate membership benefit packages and collaborating cross-departmentally to develop member communication and experiences, both in-person and virtual.

Working under the Executive Director and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attractand retainnew donors and members,and increase giving levels among current supporters of theSanta Cruz Museum of Art & History(MAH). A member of the senior management team, this position oversees allfundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, and membership programs.

Working under the Director of Development & Communications and in collaboration with the Executive Director, the Director of Finance & Administration, and other staff, this position is responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts and supporting the overall development initiatives of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the development and communications team, this position is responsible for ensuring all donations and memberships are properly processed and acknowledged, as well as compiling reports from various sources to track income, verify donor information, monitor giving cycles, and identify prospects.

Working under the Director of Development & Communications and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the acquisition, cultivation, and solicitation of general memberships and executes tasks related to all membership recruitment and retention including the member journey for the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the development and communications team, this position is responsible for ensuring that all members receive the appropriate membership benefit packages and collaborating cross-departmentally to develop member communication and experiences, both in-person and virtual.

Working under the Director of Development & Communications and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for coordinating marketing functions for the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the development and communications team, the position will assist in creating content, developing brand awareness, and cultivating engagement.

Working under the Director of Exhibitions & Programs and in collaboration with other staff, this position helps shape the agenda of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH) through managing the organization’s historical archives as well as implementing the engagement opportunities within it.

In consultation with the Director of Exhibitions & Programs and other staff, this position oversees the installation, operation, maintenance, disassembly, and packing of all light and sound-based artworks included in the 4-night Frequency festival (Sep 16-19, 2021) produced by the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH).

Working under the Director of Development & Communications and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the acquisition, cultivation, and solicitation of general memberships and executes tasks related to all membership recruitment and retention including the member journey for the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). A member of the development and communications team, this position is responsible for ensuring that all members receive the appropriate membership benefit packages and collaborating cross-departmentally to develop member communication and experiences, both in-person and virtual.

Working under the Director of Exhibitions & Programs and other MAH staff, this position is responsible for providing logistical, operational, and production support related to program-related activities and events produced by the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH).

This temporary, part-time position is estimated at 20-25 hours per week. These hours are flexible to accommodate being present at events during the week and sometimes on weekends and evenings. It is an expectation of all applicants that they are available throughout the MAH’s Frequency Festival, September 21-24, 2023, including evenings.

Working under the supervision of the Director of Exhibitions & Programs and in collaboration with other staff, this position is responsible for the preparation, fabrication, installation, de-installation, maintenance, transportation and storage activities related to temporary exhibitions, core gallery rotations, and institutional projects as assigned.


This part-time position is estimated at 20-25 hours per week. These hours are flexible to accommodate being present at events during the week and sometimes on weekends and evenings.
