Position Summary

As an Education Intern, you will lead interactive school field trips that blend Santa Cruz history with art-making. You will prepare dynamic scavenger hunts, share interactive zines with teens and engage with the community through learning. You will assist with curriculum development, lesson planning, public speaking, and delivering accurate information to groups of various ages and backgrounds.

This opportunity provides an experience for those with a strong interest in pursuing a career in education. While at the MAH, you will have a working space with plenty of resources to bring your ideas to life. Additionally, you have a great network of staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead interactive art and history field trips.
• Learn about Santa Cruz County History and current art exhibitions.
• Work collaboratively with interns, volunteers, and MAH staff.
• Assist in brainstorming, planning, and researching activities.
• Actively and enthusiastically represent the Museum in the community.

How to Apply

• Internship dates: September 2021 - December 2021, January 2022 - March 2022, April 2022 - June 2022.
• Deadline to apply: For Fall, October 8th, 2021. Winter, January 8th, 2022. Spring, April 8th, 2022.
• Must be available to come to the MAH once a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday 9:30 am -12:30 PM for a minimum of 10 hours a week.
