In These Uncertain Times
Creativity, Community, and Compassion During a Global Pandemic
Let's bring some joy to our local seniors and caregivers as we all remained sheltered in place. Join your friends, MAH staff, and neighbors in a community Zoom call as we craft heartfelt, colorful messages to be digitally sent to folks across the County.
Use what you have at home. Get creative. And share some smiles. We'll be collecting images of your work to then be sent to seniors all across the County.
Can't make the Zoom call? No problem. Send a picture or video of you and your card to jeff@santacruzmah.org by May 15th and we will distribute them.
Some cards will be emailed, some will be printed out and hand-delivered COVID-free along with bags of food through Meals on Wheels and other agencies. Join the Zoom call to learn more about the delivery process.
“I just really wanted to bring some humility, humanity, beauty, love and I didn’t know how to do that,” Gilbert said. “Then it came to me that there’s a lot, there’s a movement happening underneath all this COVID right now. People are touched emotionally towards healthcare workers like they’ve never been before, or at least since the AIDS epidemic. It’s all coming out in art and it’s everywhere.”
"The movement was created by a local nurse who is seeing the fight against the virus firsthand and can relate to the struggles and emotions of healthcare workers across the globe.
She put out the word to the community to create and donate their art to remind these workers that they are not alone in their journey and received an overwhelming out pour of support."
Fuel a more connected and creative Santa Cruz County.
