Next year, the MAH is teaming up with two titans of mountain biking to create an exhibition that explores the history of mountain biking in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz Bicycles believes that bicycles can be a force for good. Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz is a local leader in supporting, preserving, and expanding trails and responsible mountain biking. Together, we’ll create an exhibition that tells the stories of cultural and technological mountain biking innovations that happened here on our shared land and trails.

In 1879 two massive explosions in Wrights Tunnel killed thirty six railroad workers, all of whom were Chinese. Chinese laborers risked injury and death to earn a living in a country that excluded them from citizenship. In this painting two fiery ghosts stand at the entrance to the tunnel. Below them are thirty one graves honoring the workers who died. All told, one Chinese died for every mile of railroad built.

Nina will help you train for and enjoy an obstacle course race or other rugged outdoor experience at your level of comfort, challenge, and adrenaline.
