Jump-start the academic year by learning how to include local LGBTQ+ history in your curriculum. We invite county-wide educators and teachers to attend an evening of resource-sharing and connecting. This event is part of the Queer Santa Cruz exhibit which brings together stories of the local LGBTQ+ community since the 70s.

In addition, we will be debuting our MAH Trunks. Our first trunk prototype is for grades 6th - 8th. It will be full of activities, including a Pride lesson plan that utilizes the content from the Queer Santa Cruz collection.

Join us and help us bring these conversations to students by providing us with your feedback on this trunk. Your suggestions will support the making of future educational resources. We aim to offer two other trunks for grades K-5th and 9th - 12th. These educational trunks will be available for free and can be reserved for a week starting this fall.

This is a free event and you are welcome to visit current exhibits afterward. Refreshments will be provided. Space is limited. Registration is required and is confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Thank you for understanding.

What are MAH Mixers?

These mixers have been created to offer support in developing and delivering inclusive programming and outreach initiatives for those working in educational environments. The MAH hopes to collaborate with and support Santa Cruz County's more extensive academic networks by providing and sharing resources, advocating for members of our community, and building coalitions.
