Dos oradores brindarán charlas rápidas e ingeniosas sobre asuntos que aparentemente no están relacionados. Depende de ti buscar cuál es la conexión. Compite con otros grupos para sugerir cuál es la mejor conexión.

Un espacio donde las comunidades se reúnen y cualquier cosa puede suceder. Este evento es sólo para mayores de 18 años.

El mercado de Abbott Square estará abierto, puedes pasar a recoger un trago antes, durante o después del evento.

About the speakers

Jasmine Schlafke is a poet, mentor, & poetry coach from San Francisco, California. She has been a sex educator for over 10 years and is a spiritual practitioner from Interlight Ministries. She is contracted often as a panel facilitator and professional speaker on a range of topics including spirituality, feminism, racism, art and activism. In 2015 she gave a Tedx talk on “Creativity as Expression”. A renowned slam poet, Jasmine Schlafke held the titles of Santa Cruz Grand Slam Champion (2012-2014) and San Jose Grand Slam Champion (2014). She remains co-slam master and organizer of the Santa Cruz Legendary Poetry Collective.

Aaron Jones is an educator, writer, and student advocate that works in the African American Resource & Cultural Center at the University of California Santa Cruz. He serves as an academic counselor, retention specialist and lecturer, focusing on educational equity and campus climate issues. He is also a staff writer at On Comics Ground, a comic news and review site. Lastly, he is pursuing his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at Azusa Pacific University, his work focuses on critical race theory, educational equity, sense of belonging, and Black student thriving.
