Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk: A Century by the Sea
art, artifacts and memorabilia from everyone’s favorite amusement park.
Exhibited from April 21, 2007 through September 2, 2007
This museum-wide exhibition is in response to the one-hundred year anniversary celebration of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Using the recently published Santa Cruz Seaside Company’s book on the history of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk as inspiration, this exhibition includes art, artifacts and memorabilia from everyone’s favorite amusement park. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk immerses visitors in a sea of Boardwalk related objects and offers unique insight into the rich history of Santa Cruz County.
The Museum of Art & History @ the McPherson Center and KUSP Central Coast Public Radio announce a collaborative partnership for the summer of 2007. Both non-profit organizations strive to inform Santa Cruz County residents and visitors of the diverse art happenings, art education and people that are unique to this area. This partnership will extend and quantify their marketing efforts, ultimately improving services and visibility for both organizations in the promotion of local art. Both affiliations are pleased to establish a partnership that creates prolific exposure to the local art scene and informs Santa Cruz County residents of its multi-dimensional artistic factions that makes Santa Cruz an art destination in the greater Bay Area. The partnership between the two well established local non profit organizations will last through the Santa Cruz summer, making abundant exposure for both organizations. Proving once again, a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
